Forage (feed) peas are among the main grain-fodder crops grown in Russia. Its popularity is facilitated by its unpretentiousness to the climate, relatively low cost, high nutritional values. Unlike cereals, which are rich in starch and carbohydrates, the main value of peas is in a significant content of protein (vegetable protein). Its quality is comparable to the parameters of proteins in meat flour. The composition of feed peas (in mass%): protein - 36; sugar - up to 10; other carbohydrates - about 58; fats - 1.5; fiber - 6. The culture contains vitamins and many essential amino acids. Feed peas are used in their pure form, as well as in the composition of compound feed.
